Hello from the Beautiful Northwest!

Hello  from the beautiful Northwest with blossoms of every color and kind.  It is Magnificent!! This is what happens when the rains comes and comes and comes. The time is flying and it will soon be five months since I left home and it seems there is just no time in each day.
We go to Church about 9:15 on Sundays for meetings, then drive home and pick up less-actives or investigators, attend church and classes and then visit more.  Monday is P-day and about every other week we do something fun but we also wash and clean and shop.  Then we go to FHE with Stake Singles at 6:30 and come home about 8:30. Tuesday is always District Meeting usually fro 12-2 and then we visit and teach until about 5.  Eat and then go to Bishops Missionary Meeting at 6:30 and do splits with the Ward Missionaries until 9.  Wednesday we visit and teach and tract usually all day until about 5.  We then prepare for our ESL Class that is in our Clubhouse at 6:30.  This is a delightful experience. Thurs is study and plan from 9-1 with appointments the remainder of the day.  Each Thurs at 4 we cook dinner for a Less-active couple.  He is 87, she is 82.  They are delightful and stubborn about not stopping their coffee but we just love them....and they love us.  Last week they also invited the Elders to come with us and they just love them.  Wow!   So much love.
To all my grandsons and granddaughters, these missions are the MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE you will ever have.  Look forward to them and prepare yourselves to work and work and work.
Friday we usually visit and teach all day.  We have two referrals this week so pray for us.
Saturday we often do service and visit.  Sister Carter curls the beautiful white hair so an adorable 92 year old Sister who has a horrible Doward's Hump.  She is incredibly crippled and so happy and the least we can do is spend 1/2 hour making her pretty.  He husband is almost blind but he tells her she is 'beautiful'  What a choice experience for us.  Last week I typed a letter for him as he is sharing his 'last testimony' with all his neighbors....who are all non-members.  It was beautiful.
Then  we start another week and we love what we are doing!!

Our Elders, who are our District Leader and his companion whom he is training, call occasionally and  we often respond with a MacDonald's Run or some pie a non-member friend made for us.  I think these 'Grandma's' make them happy and help with the work.  We help them by giving rides for their investigators to various places.  They are very pleased we are teaching an English Class ESL...for their Burmese Investigators.
Nancy is 22 and is from Burma.  She and her family are refugees who left the country or they would have been killed because they are Christians.  Nancy's parents and 2 sisters went to India.  Nancy went to Malaysia for 4 1/2 years and then came to America and lives with her aunt and uncle.  She speaks ok English and had to stop school in 9th grade to work and pay rent.  She came to class and spoke for 15 minutes and did ok.  Then we had her read the Book of Mormon and with every verse her English improved.  After about 30 minutes of reading, she hugged the book and said, "I just love this book"  She want to be baptized BUT she is addicted to coffee, drinking it since she was 7.  She was also putting tobacco on the roof of her mouth but has been able to stop. Her language is a miracle and so is her love of the B of M.  Now we are praying for another miracle that she can stop drinking coffee.
I was reading in Alma 53 and realized the effort and energy it takes to make plans to stand strong against the battles Satan gives us in our lives.  We have to labor and make fortifications to guard against the enemy.  These fortifications, for us, are prayer, fasting, study, obedience, temple attendance and those actions our Prophets remind us to do.  I am amazed, as we do these things, the number of miracles we experience and the personal revelation we receive.
Foke, our dear 64 year old Burmese father, husband of my daughter and grandsons (picture) has only been a Christian for about 6 weeks, yet this morning when his ride for church did not come (church is 7 miles away) he walked 1 mile to meet the bus, rode for 5 miles to the bus stop in Burien and then walked to church.  Why?  Because he loves The Lord.  He was an great example of someone who had made a stand against Satan.
I am extremely happy in this work....as I climb this mountain!    I love the people so much and I am so happy when the less-active come to church.  Karen is incredible after 15 years away with hurt feelings.  Roberta is literally an angel after never being active and we love her dearly.  And the list goes on and on... I love my Heavenly Father.  He has given me so much and I feel it a privilege to share with others the blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and I am so incredibly thankful for the Atonement He made for us.
My God be with all of you this week and bless you!

Love,
Sister Frame

Its a Whale of a Tale....

Hey Guys,
This whale, or 1/2 of a whale, came up on the shore where we had a picnic last month.
Read the article.  It is really amazing.

Greetings from Tukwila, Wa!

Life is so good in this Washington Seattle Mission.  We continue to see incredible success in this area and I know "The field is ripe already to harvest... and I am blessed to be part of the work!

Last week I said we were on our way to Mt. Ranier...well, here is a picture of this Majestic Mountain that stands 14, 441 feet tall.  This is a beautiful place to live, in spite of the rain that is currently blessing Mother Earth.  We walked this morning in the rain and drizzle.  It is just part of the life of those living in the Northwest.

Since I spoke with all my children yesterday and enjoyed their visits, there is just not so much so say.

I pray that your lives will be blessed with happiness and that the 'mountains' you climb will be filled with help from the Holy Ghost and that God will be by your side.  The climb is hard and long but don't forget to pause and see the beauty that is here in spite of the climb.

Hope all of you look for Miracles this week....and find them
All my love,
Sister Frame

P.S. We love the young men. Elder Buckway is the tall one. He is our District Leader. His most used comment is  "Bless Yer Hearts" and he uses it all the time

Another Beautiful Day in the Seattle Neighborhood!!

Greetings from this corner of our Nation.

Our Missionary Conference with about 250 Elders, Sisters and Seniors was held last Saturday, May 4 in Bellevue, Washington.  Our speakers were Pres. and Sister Larkin;  Elder Bussy who is the Area President and also Elder Marcon A Aidukatis who is in the Presidency of the Seventies and is over Missionary Work.  He was also a Mission President in his home country of Brazil.  Talk about an incredible experience!  The 6 pages on notes in my journal just can't be condensed but it was one of the best meetings I have ever attended in my life.  We arrived at the Stake Center by the temple, ALL cars were backed into the parking stalls and we were in our seats at 8:15.  The meeting was over at 12:20 and we had been fed a 'spiritual feast' and we very grateful for the opportunity to be taught!!
After the meeting we went to lunch with the Kent Senior Sisters (Kent is a city) and they brought us home.  Arriving at about 3:00 we counted our blessings and the wonderful opportunity of serving as Missionaries.  We have another 27 missionaries arriving this week and another 35 due the first part of June.  Our mission will be split the first of July when a new Mission President comes.  It could mean transfers for all of us if they 'whitewash' the area.  We have heard rumors.  This will be exciting for all of us.

We found a new investigator o Saturday from Ethopia.  He is about 30 ad his name is Begashaw.  We are eager to teach him.  We found another man that we referred to the Elders because we two sisters could not teach him.  Yes, we are "catching the wave" and trying to hasten the work.  Our planners are filled and our DL, Elder Buckway is teaching us 'the better way' to fill them out  and to work the plan.  We are up and going early and usually are horizontal at 9:45 and asleep at 9:46. We are well accepted in the Ward and we seem to be making a difference and the people are very happy with the new ideas ad help we provide.  I was asked to teach RS next week.

Our Zone Leader, Elder Beetus is from the Marshal Islands.  His father took him outside EVERY morning from the time he has four years old and taught him how to jump for the sport of high jumping.  He also taught him how to run.  As a teenager he was competing in all of the local competitions on the track.  Over the years he built up quite a name.  He was famous.  He was training for the Olympics.  One day he received 2 letters in the mail... one was an offer to go to Australia and train for the Olympics.  The other letter was from the President of the Church to go to the Washington Seattle Mission.  He opened both of them up.  Thinking he was going to Australia, his mother asked him to go to his room and pray again.  His choice was to come on a mission and he is a GREAT young man and leader.  He is just an amazing young man.  He will be going home in about 4 months.

We are using the ward directory and looking for people...becoming 'little ole detectives' as we use 411.com.  This really works.  One of the sisters from our ward moved to Bellevue and her phone # was 1 digit wrong.  I called it and she said she really appreciated that our Bishop cared enough to ask us to find her. Felt good! Our Bishop is having us over for dinner on "Mother's Day"  I will get a picture of them and let you see some of those that love the work we are doing.  Tomorrow is Transfers so we hold our breath and hope Elder Buckway and Elder Nebeker will be here for another transfer.  Can't believe how much we love them.  I picture my Grandson's out in the field, Jake sooner than the rest, but I just am excited for the privileges and opportunities that all of you will be able to participate in. I hope all of you are getting along and that you continue to help each other. May God be with each of you and bless you in your personal goals and endeavors.  Continue to serve others and to look for the good in each of them. Please remember how much I love each of you!

It you have time, write me on email or even a letter and let me know how you are doing
Next week is Mother's Day.  Not knowing what time we will eat at the Bishops, I will send a note and let you know.  Those that can, let's skype or whatever it is called for about 20 minutes for each family. Did all of you know, Missionaries are allowed on email for 1 1/2 hours each Monday and they can write family, friends, cousins or whomever they want?  Don't know why the rules were changed but the missionaries are so excited.  I think it also helps with furthering the work and they put excitement into the hearts of those they write and encourage the to come and be missionaries.

We are headed to Mt. Rainer at 8:30 this morning with the Sasser's.  They are from Orangeville, Utah...just south of Price.  They are so good to us and are also our Home Teachers. I love all of you.  I miss you.  And, I am becoming a better person and I am grateful for the opportunity to 'climb this mountain'.
Hope each of you experience a Miracle this week!
All my Love,
Sister Frame

Greetings From Tukwila, Washington!

This is Esther...we are her 2 new mothers. Her mother died in Burma when she was 10
Next to her are her sons, Peter 16; John 19: David 18. They are our 3 new grandsons. They love us.  The Father's name is Foke, but he had not come from workl This is an incredible family!!!!!

I am writing Sunday evening@ 6:00 after a beautiful Sabbath Day.  Sister Carter and I were responsible for 12 individuals coming to Sacrament Meeting that have been less active and not been there and it is just awesome to see them and their expressions and their love for what it being said.  Wow, I love this work!
D&C 4:2   "Therefore, o ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve Him with all your heart, might, mind and strength;  that ye may stand blameless before Him at the last day."
I want all of you to know how much I love this work!  Just know that we, Sister Carter and  I, are
working very hard and love what we see is happening.  This a great opportunity to serve and there are many, many priceless experiences that are continuing to mold my life and deepen my commitment to Jesus Christ. We have been taught of the many seen and unseen forces that work to prepare people to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives or prepare them to be "Rescued and be reminded of those feelings they once had for the Savior and of the joy they felt at their baptism.  I know miracles happen every day, many being small, but they happen and I am a recipient of personal revelation each day.  I stand of a witness of the Love of God for His Children!
The Book of Mormon speaks of the Lamanites who "are striving with unwearied diligence  to bring back their brethren to the knowledge of the truth"  Helaman 15:5-6   Sister Carter and I are working extremely hard to follow the examples of the Lamanites and to bring our brothers and sisters back too the commitments they made at baptism. I pray each day that I will strive to keep my heart turned to God and to strive continually to do good.  According to Elder Bednar our conversions to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is an ongoing process and not a onetime event.  We do it line upon line and God.
Roberta has been without all her top teeth for about a year except for 2 teeth.  She is extremely frightened of dentists and her last 2 visits have been postponed because her anxiety causes her blood pressure too rise.  She is 63 and has not been active since being a teenager. We met her in Jan and love her to death!  She has such simple faith; listens and learns as we teach lessons; cried the first time she took the sacrament after so many years of being away and now never misses anything at the church.  We suggested she call the Elders and get a blessing the night before her Monday appointment to have a tooth pulled.  She was going to call us and have us call the Elders....then a thought came that she should call the Elders.  She called them. They called us to meet them there.  They came.  The blessing of peace and calm and Father's love for her was just beautiful.  Elder Buckway is 6'5" and he stood much taller that night.  Elder Nebeker anointed her.  Well, the lesson that faith as small as a mustard seed can bring about mighty things was felt last Sunday evening.   She went to the dentist and was not at all frightened.  He blood pressure was fine and at the end of 1 hour 15 minutes Roberta walked away with greater faith in the Priesthood of God and the blessing that was given to her by the Elders.
..."Be strong and of a good courage;  be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for The Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."   Joshua 1:9  All of you have a beautiful week through your challenges and your good times. This is a glorious time to be alive...to see the Kingdom of God roll forth and to be a part of this wonderful plan.

Thank you so much for your notes and letters and your support.  All my love,
Sister Frame

SEATTLE... Many Colors and the Space Needle!!

P-day was a wonderful day in the City....Sister Lance;  Sister Frame;  Sister Carter (my companion) and Sister Moreton.  These two other sisters we met in the MTC and they live and work in Kent...about 15 minutes away. In the city besides seeing the Space Needle and going to the top, we also took a tour that goes underground to the City of Seattle that was burned down in the Great Fire of 1889.  The city of a 30 square area was rebuilt on top of itself and so we saw what it was like in the original state.
Very interesting.

When we went to Safeway the other day, these 5 gentlemen were sitting on a bench outside the store.  We asked if we could take their pictures and they were most accommodating.  They are from Punjab, India.

The difference in size, color and shape of the turbans is personal;  the length of the beards, we thought was because of prestige, but it is very personal.  This type of dress and the men are ALL over our area.  We appreciated them sharing with us their faces and garbs. This was kinda fun! The intensity of the colors in the Northwest is absolutely incredible!!

This week was unusual and a bit week in the Missionary Department:
Monday we were in the city.
Tuesday we went to Federal Way to Zone Conference.  This day I learned that Sid Gilbert's Grandson, Elder Gilbert, is one of the new Assistants to the President.
He did a great job and his family would be very proud of him....especially his grandpa.  The Spiritual Food of the day is incredible as we are taught by Pres. Larkin but it is a long day.  We left home at 8:50 am and arrived back at 5:30.  That evening we also went to Singles FHE so when we went to bed at 9:45 we were dead...and not teaching by us was done.
Wednesday morning at 7:10 I took Sister Carter to the ER because of some problems in her throat and chest.  Went to ER because we had no doctor and really would not have been able to get into one.  We got home at 1:30 and stayed for the remainder of the day....no missionary work done.
Thursday we taught a lesson to Roberta and another one to Barbara.  Went to 2 other homes and they were not there....and Sis. Carter did not feel super.  Went to a specialist at 3:00 and got home at 6:00 and made an appointment for a barium swallow Tues, 23 at 9:00...and not much missionary work done today..
Friday we tried to work harder but it just didn't seem to flow well. Still, we visited 6 families and had dinner with one. That morning I was thinking about..."serving him with all my heart, might, mind and strength"  We just were not able to do that this week because of health interruptions and I was reminded that when we can't work as asked to do...the rewards are not there!  I am not feeling guilty because life is life and things happen.  But I do know that missionary work requires a great deal of effort.  As I made commitments this day to be more focused on Jesus Christ and my efforts to teach and bring others to Him....my day was a little better.
However,  Saturday was Incredible!  Sister Carter is a little stronger each day, and that helps, but we just worked so hard.  We went to the home of 1 non-member and 5 others and the visits were wonderful.  We picked up someone to take to the Baptism, went early to set up (the Elders asked us to make it look nice), attended a baptism for Foke, Esther and John.  Now the family of 5 is baptized.  Glorious!!!  Went to Safeway's and picked up some ice cream bars and went to their home for a while.

So that is my 'unusual' week in the Mission Field.  Hopefully this coming week will be better.
My little CRV is adding about 1000 miles/month.  Love that it is little and can 'flip a u-turn' anywhere because the streets are....very interesting.  Love this car. Thanks again for your letters and notes and help.  I love all of you!

"Pray always, and I will pour out my Spirit upon you and great shall be your blessing..."
D & C 19:38

Please remember Wendy Frame Call in your prayers.   Her family went to Costa Rica during Spring Break.  She is at the University of Utah Hospital with Dengue Fever and is very, very  sick, she will be released today as there is no antibiotic for this and she just has to treat the symptoms as they come.
It is wonderful that family and friends have faith in prayers and we know Heavenly Father hears us.
Much Love,
Sister Frame
